In the creation story, it wasn’t until God spoke that light shone upon the earth., and God declares it as “good.”

In the same way, if we do not speak up, I believe that many things will go unseen.

I have observed from a young age that culturally, we seem to prefer keeping quiet to preserve the appearance of peace and order rather than being branded as a trouble maker or having some other motive. So instead of raising concerns or pursuing justice, we shrugs things off, make excuses for others, and hold on to the idea that things will work themselves out… over what I believe to more dangerous — that “God will intervene at the right time.”

This is not to say that God cannot work wonders in any circumstance (make a message from our mess… or insert your own cliche). But this should not be applied as a reason NOT to stand for justice or attempt to enact change.
